Job Description:
The support analyst is a key technical support resource within the organization, providing advice and resolution on UNIX/Linux systems.
The role involves heavy interface and working closely with other key members of the IT Services team and company employees with different focus areas of expertise which include, however not limited to; Unix Administrators, DBA’s, Application Developers/ support team, Network Administrators, and Technical Support personnel.
Your designated responsibilities will include normal day-to-day operations of multiple UNIX/ Linux servers, both virtualized and physical, maintenance and monitoring of server environment.
Per the duties and responsibilities, you need to provide 24-hours on call support on rotational basis as needed.
Respond to and provide urgent service during regular and after normal business hours.
Skills:
• An in-depth knowledge of Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu etc). Other UNIX disciplines may be an advantage: IBM AIX, HP-UX; leverages business acumen and subject matter expertise.
• Knowledge of different hardware architecture.
• Server management.
• Enterprise storage server implementation.
• Contribute to the development of new techniques and plans within area of expertise.
• Work on abstract and complex problems requiring evaluation of intangible variables.
• Develop innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis that improve business performance and contribute to corporate goals and strategic intent.
• Anticipate operational, program, and implementation issues and develops preventative measures.
• Adapt to projects, programs or methods based on customer or business partner feedback.
• 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
