Educational Qualification:
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent. Candidates must be able to speak, read & write in Bengali or Nepali. Candidates who have studied Bengali or Nepali either as a language or as a medium of instruction at the Madhyamik or at a higher level, are eligible to apply for the posts as knowledge of the regional language is essential for day to day functioning & for maintenance of law & order. Candidates who otherwise do not fulfill this eligibility criterion but have declared themselves to be proficient in Bengali or Nepali shall be tested for the knowledge of regional language during the personality test.

Age Limit & Relaxation:
Candidates must not be less than 20 years & not more than 27 years as on the 01.01.2017. The upper age limit shall be relaxable in case of the candidates belonging to SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Govt. rules of the State.

Selection Process:
Candidates selection process will be based on the Preliminary examination, Physical Measurement Test ( PMT ) & Physical Efficiency Test ( PET ), Final Combined Competitive examination & Personality Test.
